The annual NZ House & Garden House Tours is an extension of the magazine brand and have been operating for the last 10 years. The Tours are now New Zealand’s largest charity house tours and are run in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

Each year, five fabulous locations are hand picked to showcase a variety of homes, reflecting local design flare and style. The tours are self-driven, and give attendees the opportunity to take in the best scenery the region has to offer, try some quirky cafes or eateries along the way, and also visit our Hub; a one stop shop for all your house tour information and where they can meet the editorial team behind their much-loved magazine.

NZ House & Garden House Tours are self-guided days, showcasing approximately 8 houses in their respective areas, in addition to a Tour Hub. Two weeks prior to the tour date, we email through the official tickets which include a start house (selected when tickets are purchased), house addresses, maps and important tour information. The houses may be viewed in any order you like, but tour-goers must start at the house allocated to them on the official ticket to avoid congestion at houses.

The Hub has become a highlight on our tours - open from 9.30am, the Hub is a space where tour-goers can enjoy food, refreshments, enter amazing competitions and find plenty of ways to support the charity. You can also look forward to a warm welcome from our family of sponsors, along with the chance to meet our wonderful staff from the magazine, have a chat with our Editor, Naomi Larkin and hear more about the great work Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand are doing.

We offer tour goers an exclusive subscription offers to NZ House & Garden magazine.

“Superb Tour.. look forward to bringing more out of town friends to the next one! Wonderful you give so much support to Breast Cancer.”

2019 Tauranga tour-goer

“My highlight of the Tour was seeing how the different houses were decorated, the colours used, the furniture - so much thought put into designing and building the houses. I have been to a lot of open homes in my recent search to purchase a house, but these houses were exceptional.”

2019 Christchurch tour-goer

“Super friendly and helpful local volunteers made this day an absolute pleasure. An extremely smooth and well run event. Was fantastic to see the houses that I love to read about in your magazine in the flesh. It was a fabulous day out and fabulous to support Breast Cancer as well.”
